Chandni Chowk? Did they get permission? It is an approved protest site?
It’s amazing how much political hypocrisy there is in Delhi during the festival season. If the opposition intends to hold a large political gathering at Ramlila Maidan, the ruling party talks about the losses of traders, traffic jams, and the rights of the shopkeepers. But if the ruling party decides to hold a political march right through the streets of Chandni Chowk, then the opposition will suddenly think of asking whether the local shopkeepers are being affected. Neither cares for Old Delhi’s shopkeepers, of course; only sees it as a political tool.
In this case,
Rahul's question is rhetorical, highlighting the hypocracy.
BJP's rally is hypocracy, and shopowners(*) not requesting to halt that rally shows that they don't have any real concern of loss, it's their political stance, rather than financial (which was already obvious, as they don't question govt's and Delhi Police's actions of closing the market. Protests didn't close the market, police did.)
